Welcome to the album upload guidelines for Tamil Pictures. This checklist is designed to help you prepare your photo albums for submission, ensuring a smooth and efficient process.
Before you upload your album, please consider the following:
- Image Quality: Ensure that all images are high-resolution and clear.
- File Format: Use common formats such as JPEG or PNG for your photos.
- Album Theme: Keep a consistent theme or story throughout your album.
- Captions: Provide descriptive captions for each image to enhance viewer engagement.
- Copyright: Confirm that you have the rights to all images included in your album.
By following these guidelines, you can help us showcase the vibrant culture and events of Tamil cinema effectively. Thank you for contributing to Tamil Pictures!
Preparing Your Album Before You Submit
A good album starts long before the upload button. Spending a little time on selection, naming and context makes your photos easier to review and far more enjoyable for visitors browsing the albums section.
Edit down to your strongest frames
Most events produce dozens of near-identical shots. Choose the single best image from each burst, looking for sharp focus on faces, open eyes and clean backgrounds. A tight album of twenty to forty strong photos usually holds attention better than a long sequence of repeats. Arrange them in a logical order, such as arrival, main moments and closing scenes, so the album reads like a story.
Check exposure and colour
Stage lighting at film launches and audio functions in Chennai is often coloured or uneven. Light corrections to brightness and white balance are welcome, but avoid heavy filters, artificial skin smoothing or edits that change what actually happened. Viewers expect press-style stills to look natural.
Name files and write useful captions
- Rename files in sequence (for example, event-name-01.jpg) so the order is preserved.
- In captions, identify people only when you are certain who they are, and note the occasion and general location.
- Keep captions factual and respectful; avoid speculation or gossip.
- Write captions in clear English, adding Tamil names in their commonly used spellings.
Respect people and permissions
Beyond owning the copyright, think about the people in your frames. Avoid unflattering candid shots taken at private moments, and take extra care with images of children, who should only appear with clear consent from a parent or guardian. If an event organiser restricted photography in certain areas, leave those images out.
Remove hidden data
Camera and phone files can carry location data in their metadata. Strip GPS information if your photos were taken at homes or private venues. Keep your original, unedited files safely stored in case questions arise about an image's origin.
If you are unsure whether an album fits, browse the events coverage for examples of tone and style, or reach out through the contact page before submitting.
