Before You Write to Us

A little detail in your first message helps us reply properly. Tell us which picture or album you mean, include the page name or a short description of the photo, and say whether your note is a question, a correction, a suggestion or a request. Messages that point to a specific image in the gallery or a particular set in the albums section are much easier to follow up on than general comments.

Corrections and credits

Captions on cinema stills and event photos sometimes need updating. A name may be misspelt, a film title may be listed under the wrong year, or an event may be credited to the wrong venue. If you spot something like this, tell us what is wrong and what the correct information should be. If you are the photographer of an image and the credit is missing or incorrect, please say so clearly so we can review it.

Sharing your own photographs

We are always interested in hearing from people who photograph Chennai's cultural life, from film-related gatherings to festivals and community celebrations. If you would like to contribute, the contributors page explains how others have been involved. When you get in touch, describe the kind of work you do and the events or subjects you cover. Please do not send large files with your first message. Only offer images you took yourself or have clear permission to share.

What we can and cannot help with

Tamil Pictures is an independent photo gallery. We are not a film studio, a talent agency or an event organiser. We cannot arrange meetings with actors, sell tickets or supply official promotional material. For those requests, please contact the production house or event organiser directly. We are glad to talk about the pictures we feature, how they are organised and how you might take part.

We read every message. Replies can take a few days, especially during busy festival and release seasons, so thank you for your patience.
