Getting the Most from Your Message

A clear, well-organised message helps us respond faster and more usefully. Whether you are a reader curious about a particular still, a photographer hoping to share your work, or someone who spotted an error in a caption, a few details make a real difference.

What to include

• The page or album you mean: copy the address or describe the gallery, such as a specific film's stills set or an event album, so we can find it quickly.
• The nature of your request: a correction, a credit query, a removal request, a suggestion for coverage, or a general question.
• Context for corrections: if a name, film title or event detail looks wrong, tell us what you believe is correct and, where possible, where that information comes from.

Image credits and removal requests

We take image ownership seriously. If you are the photographer or rights holder of a picture shown here and the credit is missing or inaccurate, please identify the image and explain your connection to it. If you would prefer an image to be taken down, say so plainly; we review these requests carefully and act on genuine concerns.

Contributing photographs

Chennai has a lively photography community, from people documenting temple festivals and Margazhi season concerts to those capturing film launches and street life. If you would like your work considered, tell us a little about the kind of pictures you take and how you would like to be credited. Tamil Pictures is an independent gallery. We are not affiliated with film studios, production houses or event organisers, and we cannot arrange tickets, interviews, auditions or introductions to actors. For those matters, the official channels of the relevant studio or organiser are the right place to ask.

We read every message, though replies may take a little time during busy periods such as major film releases or festival weeks. Thank you for helping us keep the gallery accurate and enjoyable.

Getting the Most from Your Message

A little detail in your first message goes a long way, especially for a gallery that handles thousands of individual frames. If you are writing about a specific image, tell us which section it appeared in, such as Cinema or Events. Include the album or film title and a short description of the picture, for example the scene, the people shown or the occasion. A link copied from your browser's address bar is even better, because it points us straight to the right page.

Corrections and credits

Tamil cinema stills and event photographs pass through many hands before they reach a gallery. Captions can carry the wrong name, date or venue, and credits sometimes go missing. If you notice a mistake, please let us know what is wrong and, where possible, what the correct information should be. Photographers and rights holders who want an image credited differently or removed should explain their connection to the work. That helps us review the request fairly and act on it promptly.

Sharing your own photographs

If you have photographed a festival, a temple celebration, a music evening or a street scene in Chennai and would like to be considered as a contributor, take a look at the Contributors page first. Then send a brief note about the kind of work you do. Please do not attach large batches of full-resolution files to a first email. A few low-resolution samples, or a link to an online portfolio, is enough to begin a conversation.

What we cannot help with

Tamil Pictures is an independent gallery. We are not a film studio, a production house or an event organiser, and we cannot pass messages to actors, arrange interviews or sell tickets. For those requests, please contact the official production team or venue directly.

We read every message. Replies can take a little longer during busy festival seasons, when new albums are being prepared, so thank you for your patience.
